Behavior Management

Behavior management refers to a variety of techniques that are designed to change or eliminate undesirable behaviors and increase wanted behaviors through the use of prevention strategies, rewards, social skills training and adjusting the child’s environment.

The goals of this area are to help educators:

• Understand the A-B-C Chain of Behavior

• Know what came first - Antecedent

• Learn how to describe - Behavior

• Obtain a working knowledge of positive and negative - Consequences

• Assess what is behind the inappropriate behavior - Function

• Create appropriate prevention / intervention strategies

The TBSI online course is available on the Internet 24/7. One credit hour per module will be awarded upon completion of this training. The time commitment will vary depending on participants' individual working styles.

Make sure that you have your name and campus on the evaluation form.
