The Master of Education degree is a flexible program that offers the participant two options:
36-hour masters program with a specialization in English
or
An 18 hour program in English
Participants who complete the 36 hour program also have the option of seeking principal or counselor certification through the Region 14 Administrator Alternative Certification Program.
Up to 12 credit hours of appropriate coursework may be transferred into the program from an accredited institution if approved by an academic advisor and if taken within the last 6 years.
Successful completion of the 36 credit hours must be accomplished within 6 years. The program includes a comprehensive examination.
Master's Degree
A two-year masters degree and program offered via distance learning, web-based learning and on-site training.
Two core classes will be taught each semester.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
2.5 grade point avereage or 3.0 on last 60 hours
No Graduate Record (GRE) is required.

Program Costs
Upon acceptance into the program, a $500.00 non-refundable program fee is payable to Region 14 - MACP for those pursuing a masters degree.
The program fee is $250.00 for those pursuing ONLY the 18 hour specialization, payable to Region 14 - MACP.
Each semester tuition, fees, and textbooks will be paid directly to Sul Ross State University. For financial aid or scholarship information, contact Sul Ross State University.
Course Format
Distance Education - Classes are taught simultaneously in Alpine and Region 14 utilizing interactive television.
Web-Delivered - Classes are taught solely by use of web technology.
Web-Enhanced - Classes are taught with a combination of on location and web technology.
