The Center for School Operations is an approved sponsor for the training for school board members as required by Texas Education Code 11.159. The program consists of:
Initial 16 hours of training for new school board members including 3 hours of Orientation to the Texas Education Code, 3 hours of Team Building, and 10 hours of continuing education as identified by the assessment of training needs related to the Statewide Standards.
Ten hours of training for experienced board members including 2 hours of update training on the Texas Education Code, 3 hours of Team Building, and 5 hours of continuing education as identified by the assessment of training needs related to the Statewide Standards.
Training is scheduled throughout the year at appropriate times and locations to allow for maximum participation.
