Both initial certification (20-hr.) and recertification (8-hr.) training are offered. Region 14 ESC establishes and maintains a database of school bus driver certification records, files reports, and assists school districts in maintaining strict compliance with the provisions described in all applicable statutes, rules, and requirements pertaining to the operation of the student transportation system. In addition, assistance is provided in developing policies and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the districts’ school buses.
