The purpose and intent of the Professional Development Program is to provide assistance to school districts to ensure that teachers, and where appropriate, staff and administrators have access to intensive and sustained high-quality professional development so as to have a positive and lasting impact on the teacher's performance in the classroom. Training and professional development is to be aligned with challenging State content and State student performance standards in core academic subjects.
